DofE Volunteers

Local teenagers working towards their bronze level of the Duke of Edinburgh award gave up the last day of their Easter holidays to volunteer at Little Assynt tree nursery last Friday. The hard workers help prepare seed beds and learned how to sow Downy Birch seeds into seed trays. Volunteering opportunities are always available at the tree nursery. For after-school volunteering

Spring Open Day

A wet day didn’t put visitors off coming along to Little Assynt tree nursery’s open day last week. Live music from our brilliant local musicians created a great atmosphere and cake kept everyone happy. Creative kids made cress heads and tried out the tree puzzles dotted around the nursery. Willow Weaving in Achiltibuie

As part of Little Assynt tree nursery’s Spring open day celebrations last week we ran a willow bird feeder course in Achiltibuie. Visitors to the area and local people came along to try their hand at willow weaving under the expert eye of local willow grower and weaver Midge.
