Animal Tracks (Numeracy)

This activity involves finding animal tracks outside, using track identification guides to work out what made the track and calculating how many toes you have found! For younger pupils these numbers can be used for practicing a variety of number processes. For older pupils use the tracks identified for more complicated problems and to create various times tables.    

Mud Kitchen

This is an activity about making a mud kitchen and using it to learn about measuring, estimating, basic fraction identification, literacy. Making mud pies and imaginary cooking using natural outdoor materials seems to have always been a part of playing outdoors. It’s a great way to engage with the outdoors and get hands on experience by exploring materials, role playing
