Nature Alphabet

During outdoor sessions, create letters of the alphabet using found materials. Perhaps a twig is naturally the shape of a letter, or objects are collected and rearranged into the shape of a letter. Allow imaginations to run wild!

Path Work Exploration

Activity to explore paths and why maintenance of them is important. A great one to explore a variety of curriculum links that apply to local environment and our place in it. Can be adapted to suit younger age groups.

Risk Assessment Triangles

A resource to help individuals identify potential hazards and the risks associated with them. Enables individuals to begin taking ownership of their wellbeing and increase awareness of the world around them. Great health and safety discussions at the start of a session.

Soil Recipe

Soil is made up of 45% minerals from rocks, 25% water, 25% air, 5% organic matter, along with the action of time, activity of living things and specific climatic conditions. This activity is an interactive, visual and fun way to understand the above. Can be used as a starting point to any session exploring soil or playing in mud kitchens.

Sound Map

An activity that helps tune into sense of sound and increase awareness of surroundings. Also offers opportunity for using a compass and creative interpretation of environment. Links are given to learn some common bird songs as well. Can be adapted to suit different age groups.

Wee Beasties Information

This sheet offers information about invertebrates before taking part in any kind of explore/survey involving these creatures. Information can be adapted to suits different age groups. Sheet includes a game to add additional fun into the mix!
