Woodland Artisan: Spoon Carving Workshop

Spoon carving is the stereotypical Nordic woodcraft project people get stuck into and for good reason.  It is easy to pick up the basics but can take many years to master, so you can see constant improvement and keeping your interest for many years.  Everybody needs wooden spoons in their kitchen so they make great gifts.  The other benefit of starting with spoons is that you only need much small pieces of wood (twigs and branches) to get making. Compared to cup making where you need access to large diameters of timber.
