CJS Support Part Time Position at the Tree Nursery

Work Opportunity with CALL

Little Assynt Tree Nursery Seed Collection Organiser Contract In partnership with the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, Little Assynt Tree Nursery is to collect local tree seed for the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership.  The Little Assynt Tree Nursery is a project of Coigach Assynt Living Landscape (CALL). The Nursery is looking to contract a Seed Collection Organiser to locate and collect ripe tree seed locally (within Seed Zone 102) and prepare the seed for despatch to the Millennium Seed Partnership.  The collection of seed is for fifteen designated species and the seed collection organiser would be contracted for 40 days paid work.  The prospective candidate will need to be able to drive, and have access to their own vehicle.  Work mileage will be reimbursed. Little Assynt Tree Nursery Partners with Kew Gardens

The Assynt News featured Little Assynt Tree Nursery as it has been invited to partner with Kew Gardens in the UK National Tree Seed Project, and the Nursery as a result had advertised for a Seed Collection Organiser.

Tree Nursery Advertises for Seed Collector

The Little Assynt Tree Nursery has been invited by Royal Botanical Gardens Kew to join the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership. The Millennium Seed Bank Partnership is the largest ex situ plant conservation programme in the world.  Further details about the UK National Tree Seed Project component of the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership can be found at www.kew.org/ukntsp. Little Assynt Tree Nursery has agreed to collect native seed from 11 locally native trees and shrubs.  Nick Clooney, Nursery Manager has been the key contact for the project.  Recognising the extra work involved with Kew Partnership, the Nursery is opening a short contract for a Seed Collection Organiser.
