Summer newsletter just out

Hot off the press is the Summer newsletter (just in time, there was a frost in Lochbroom last night!) and I hope you’ll be able to pick up a copy from the ‘usual outlets’ in Lochinver, Achiltibuie or Elphin.  If not, you’ll find it here, in the Downloads section. Viv

Open Day at the tree nursery

We’d be really pleased to see you at the Little Assynt tree nursery this Thursday, 28th August. From 1.30 to 3.30pm we’ll be there to show you round and to chat about plans for the future.  It’s looking great just now, so why not come along and enjoy coffee and cake in this stunning riverside setting, with views of Quinag

a wee look at Little Assynt

Next Wednesday, 27th August, local artist Jan Kilpatrick is holding two family-friendly workshops at Little Assynt. Each 2-hour session will get up close to some of the interesting plants and beasties easily accessible from the track, with some help from me. Then we’ll make little books and fill them with sketches and a poem inspired by what we find. It

Just to let you know, the local Rangers lead excellent, informative and fun walks, so if you feel like a bit of exercise and learning more about local wildlife and landscapes, do join one of the walks. The details for the rest of August are in the downloads section.

Wild Wood Week – save the date

CANCELLED event

The forecast for tomorrow isn’t much better – wet and windy and cold – so I’ve very regretfully made the decision to CANCEL the Shore Thing event in Coigach.  It’s a great pity

Shore is Fun in Coigach

I’m hoping you’ll come along to Old Dornie in Coigach on Wednesday 13th August.  From 10am we’ll be helping nature by cleaning up litter off the shore, and using what we find to make lovely colourful woven litter-art, with the help of Frances Fogg from Ullapool.  Frances lives right on the shore of Loch Broom and delights in making her
