We had about 12 six and seven year olds visit us last week when Lochinver Primary School children came to the tree nursery.  The pigs were the star attraction and enjoyed being fed by the children. We talked about the uses of trees for wildlife and people and then they tried to match the names of the trees to the ones growing in the polytunnels.  After birch seed collection, lunch and more games the children made their own tree out of natural materials lying around. The picture shows one of the finished results. Last of all the children got sprinkled by the irrigation system.  Despite all the fun educational games this seems to be their favourite activity when visiting the nursery. They ran around the sprinklers squealing with delight and by the end there were 12 very happy and damp children.  Romany
