If you’re stuck for a present idea, or have decided this year to give to charity instead, why not donate to the CALL project?  Your gift will go towards growing on tree seedlings from locally-collected seed, which in a couple of years’ time will be planted out in Coigach and Assynt to begin the process of getting our woodland back.  All donations, large or small, are very much appreciated and will directly benefit wildlife and people in the northwest of Scotland.  It would be a useful, positive gift, growing on into the future!  Thank you and have a happy festive season!

On Friday and Saturday, Romany the recently-appointed Nursery Outreach Officer, will be at Lochinver Christmas Fair with a table of beautiful Christmas wreaths she has made from locally-collected greenery.  She’ll also be hoping to drum up support for a volunteers’ group to carry out work at the tree nursery, so if you can make it along do go and have a chat with her.  Maybe it could be a new year resolution, to join in with other like-minded people doing practical work to benefit the area, in the spectacular setting of the tree nursery at Little Assynt. And having fun of course!  Viv

one of Romany’s wreaths in progress – they really are lovely – come and see!
